Kinship of Greater Minneapolis helps children ages 5-15 in need of additional adult support to realize their God given potential through adult friendships. Kinship also provides a unique service opportunity for individuals, couples and families to put their faith into action on behalf of children. Kinship volunteers meet with a child about once a week to include them in everyday activities. Program service area includes Hennepin and Anoka counties.

Description of the project:
Kinship friend/mentor to a child. Can apply as individual, couple or family.
Also opportunities to organize or help with a program event.

Ongoing

Time Commitment/Hours:
Once a week for 1 - 4 hours, including a child in everyday activities.

Training/Screening Requirements:
Application process includes information session, application, interview, criminal background check and references.
Volunteer traits include: love of children, nonjudgmental attitude, variety of interests, transportation and dependability.
