Site / Organization Description:
Urban Homeworks is a faith based non-profit housing ministry whose mission is to “perpetuate the Hope of Jesus Christ through the strategic placement of Urban Neighbors, dignified housing for low income families, volunteer mobilization, and construction training for community members.”
Urban Homeworks is pursuing Redemptive development of real estate. The redemption is not only in the physical structure and environment, but in the lives of the volunteers, trainees, the community, and the family that lives in the home that we build.

Project Description:
We will be constructing and/or rehabilitating six single family houses for families that fall below 80% of the Metro Median Income. The volunteer effort will be augmented by ten young people from the North Side of Minneapolis that we will be training in construction over the next year through a partnership with TreeTrust, YouthBuild, Minnesota Housing, The City of Lakes Community Land Trust, and the Minnesota Internship Center.

Dates of service:
Call or e-mail to schedule.

Time Commitment/Hours:
Minimum of 4 hours; minimum of 6 people per group
