More About 90 Days of Blessing
May 12th - August 9th, 2008
As a natural outflow of the Global
Day of Prayer, we are calling Christians to demonstrate the love of Christ by blessing
their surrounding communities through acts of kindness and service. This effort will
demonstrate Christs love as His followers touch their communities at their points of
need.
During the 90 days following
Pentecost Sunday, Christians are encouraged to participate in meeting community needs
through one of these four areas.
Select an area of need, and contact
one of the community organizations or projects where you can help make an impact.
In addition, some churches are
joining together to impact their local communities in various cities and regions.
Demonstrating our faith through
action
These ministry projects are not intended to be a time for verbal witness. Our actions
speak to demonstrate what Christ has transformed in us. Serving in our community, meeting
needs of our neighbors, and blessing our schools and cities, is a powerful way to
demonstrate our faith in Jesus.
90 Days of Blessing is modeled after
the Jerusalem Church in the Book of Acts; there we witnessed how transformed Christians
transformed their communities. As they prayed and sought God, they offered themselves to
Him as instruments of compassion and blessing. The Global Day of Prayer anticipates the
forming of alliances in Minnesota among pastors, churches, missions, and business leaders
to bring practical and transformational blessing to their communities, especially in the
90 days following Pentecost
Christians throughout Minnesota will
identify ways to bless their neighbors, communities, and cities by becoming the hands and
feet of Jesus Christ on the earth.
