Meals on Wheels

Dates of Service:
May 28 – August 28, 2007 and beyond

Time Commitment/Hours:
Five days weekly (M-F), delivering meals (pick-up/drop-off), 1 1/2 hour commitment from start to finish (11:30am t o 1:00 pm) (route takes only 45 minutes)

Training/Screening Requirements:
Training is minimal (one day equals one route), and screening consists of a criminal background check. Requirements: completed application, valid driver’s licenses, insurance on your vehicle, and the ability to lift 25lbs.

Capacity Volunteers:
6 volunteers daily (teams of 2) – a total of 3 teams - 1 volunteer driver and 1 volunteer to deliver the meals

Function:
To pick up and drop off food to seniors, the disabled, the shut-in (isolated and nutritionally at - risk), and greet and treat clients with respect and dignity
