Description:
Meals on Wheels

Training is minimal, and screening consists of a criminal background check. Requirements: completed application, valid driver’s licenses, and insurance on your vehicle

Dates of Service:
May 28 – August 28, 2007 and beyond

Time Commitment/Hours:
Five days weekly (M-F), delivering meals (pick-up/drop-off), 2 hour commitment from start to finish (11:00 am to 1:00 pm) (route takes only 45 minutes)

Training/Screening Requirements:
Capacity Volunteers:
4 – 6 volunteers daily in teams of two (2 -3 teams), 1 volunteer driver and 1 volunteer to deliver the meals

Function:
To pick up and drop off food to seniors, the disabled, the shut-in (isolated and nutritionally at-risk), and greeting and treating clients with respect and dignity
